In the aftermath of a disaster, potential contractors swarm to the site hoping for a piece of the clean-up and recovery effort. For small business owners, it can be chaotic and confusing. This webinar will cover steps to take for disaster response and recovery contracts on the federal, state, and local levels. Items that will be covered: Federal Level: • The Stafford Act and how it applies to disaster response (emergency vs. disaster) • How to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) • How to register in the System for Award Management (SAM) database which is mandatory for Federal government contracting State Level: • Registering with Louisiana Business Emergency Operations Center (LA BEOC) • Registering with Louisiana Procurement and Contract Network (LaPAC) Local Level: • Registering with the Louisiana Municipality Association (LMA) • Registering in the Lafayette Consolidated Government (LCG) Vendor Portal Ms. Kulick will also provide an overview of the Louisiana Procurement Technical Assistance Center that provides FREE technical assistance to its clients.
