LSBDC at UL Hosts a Business Plan Competition LSBDC joins forces with Home Bank and others to make one small business dream a reality The Louisiana Small Business Development Center at University of Louisiana at Lafayette is launching a business plan competition for entrepreneurs and small business owners in the Lafayette area. Grand prize package for the winning entry includes: • $5,000 Advertising package from Townsquare Media • Website and Logo Design from Firefly Digital • $3,000 Ad Schedule from Cox Media/Laptop and phone package from Cox Business • Free office space from the Opportunity Machine for up to 12 months • Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce one year membership • Consideration for a loan from Home Bank to start or expand their business* Qualifying participants will develop a start-up or expansion business plan with the help of the Small Business Development Center at UL Lafayette. And on September 25th one winner will be chosen to receive the grand prize package. The purpose of this competition is to help small businesses in the Lafayette area grow and to create new jobs in the community. “Home Bank is pleased to partner with others in our Acadiana community to support this valuable opportunity for small businesses and start-ups who need help to realize their goal.” There is no cost to enter this competition and registration is open from July 15th through September 9th, 2013. Once all participants have submitted their proposal 5 finalists will be chosen and on September 25th all proposals will be presented in person to the selection committee to determine the grand prize winner. “There are great opportunities in the Acadiana area for entrepreneurs to start or grow their business. We think the great prize package included in this competition is enough to take one business to another level of success, “said Nathan Thornton, Senior Business Consultant at UL Lafayette Small Business Development Center.
