However, it is only true if people know about the product or business. Businesses must tell the world or at least their target market about their good or service. In marketing, we have the promotional mix. The elements of the promotions mix are: Advertising, Personal Selling, Public Relations and Sales promotion. Each of these elements has particular strengths and weaknesses and to achieve maximal effectiveness, more than one, if not all of the elements need to play a role in a promotional campaign. This session will examine the promotional mix elements and how the promotional mix elements can be combined to create an integrated marketing campaign (IMC). Special emphasis will be placed on grassroots marketing (low to no cost promotional efforts) as well as the use of social media and digital mediums to reach potential customers.
