Interested in learning the basics of Intellectual Property (IP)? Are you thinking about starting a business? Do you own one already? Or maybe you’re an inventor, artist, or designer. Maybe you sell goods online or in a store or provide a service to others. Join us for our beginner-level patents and trademarks workshop, presented by LSU librarian and Patent and Trademark Resource Center (PTRC) representative, Kendall Caple. This session will introduce the basics of IP, including how patents protect inventions and how trademarks safeguard brand identity. Participants will learn how to conduct simple patent and trademark searches, navigate free research tools, and identify reliable resources for getting started. PTRC representatives are not attorneys and cannot provide legal advice.
