Thu 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM
Topic: Government Contracting

WHAT: The U.S. Small Business Administration is conducting a HUBZone education and training event. The Historically Underutilized Business Zone (HUBZone) Program Boot Camp is designed to introduce your business to the program, help determine whether your business is eligible for the program, and support the efforts of your business to participate in the program. WHY: Every year, the federal government awards over $500 billion in contracts. A significant share of those contracts are specifically allotted to small businesses. SBA assists federal agencies in identifying and awarding contracts to meet the 23% statutory goal of government-wide small business prime contracting. Agencies are also required to award 3% of contracts to small businesses located in historically underutilized business zones (HUBZones). SBA encourages small businesses to learn more about the HUBZone program and take advantage of this federal contracting opportunity. The session is designed for all small businesses considering Hubzone certification or looking for more information on the Hubzone program. Topics to be covered include: Hubzone eligibility criteria; review of the Hubzone application; maintaining Hubzone certification; identifying Hubzone contracting opportunities.
