Annie’s Project helps farm women learn about farm management skills in a comfortable setting. Annie was a woman who grew up in a small town in Northern Illinois. Her goal was to marry a farmer and she did. Annie spent her lifetime learning how to be an involved business partner with her farm husband. Together they did great things, but it wasn’t easy. This is Annie’s Project – to take her experiences and share it with farm women living and working in a complex business. The program is composed of six educational sessions to be held on Thursday nights in July and August 2014 from 5:30pm to 8:30pm. Class dates are: *Thursday, July 17th *Thursday, July 24th *Thursday, July 31st *Thursday, August 7th *Thursday, August 14th *Thursday, August 21st Topical areas will include: *Financial ratios, balance sheets, and record keeping systems, enterprise analysis *Human communication and management styles, insurance needs, succession planning *Legal and environmental issues, estate laws, property title, employee requirements *Marketing plans, access to market information, contracts, basics of futures and options *Production tools, farmland leasing, USDA programs, soil maps, crop insurance
