Fri, Mar 28 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM
Topic: Managing a Business

Small business will learn about three critical cybersecurity issues:

Threat and Vulnerability Assessment Clinic: Risks of Data Exposure

This session demonstrates how publicly available information (OSINT) and data breaches expose businesses to cyber threats. Participants will see real-world examples of how attackers gather intelligence and exploit weaknesses through social engineering. The session also covers proactive measures to reduce exposure, such as limiting public data, improving breach response, and strengthening internal security policies.

Cyber Risk Assessment Clinic: Hack-Proof Your Castle

This seminar explores the importance of cybersecurity for small businesses, highlighting essential protective tools such as anti-malware, password managers, email security, and data backup solutions. The session concludes with cost-effective strategies, including cyber insurance, employee training, and free security resources to help businesses build stronger defenses.

In Plain Sight: Securing Overlooked Devices on the Network

With IoT and peripheral devices increasingly present in workplaces, this session highlights their security risks. Participants will learn how vulnerabilities in smart devices, printers, and networked peripherals can be exploited. The seminar covers best practices for securing these devices, including network segmentation, access controls, and authentication measures. A live demonstration will illustrate how insecure devices can serve as entry points for cyberattacks and how proper configurations can prevent lateral movement within a network.
