“EI: Emotional Intelligence” is a professional, success-building workshop session in the VIRTUAL LSBDC Business Success Series. This Workshop offers practical advice on how to successfully navigate existing business relationships and promote new customer, client, employee relationships, and other important connections within your sphere of influence. Topics include the four skills of successful EI leadership, strategies for recognizing defense mechanisms of emotional behavior and successfully managing emotions in the workplace. The successful professional’s practical tools for creating a well-balanced emotional business environment will also be presented and discussed.

A question and answer period will be available for the attendees to ask specific questions related to their businesses and the session topic.

Who should attend? Any business owners, managers, entrepreneurs, human resource managers, marketing and sales personnel, leaders, success-oriented business owners, managers, employees, and leaders.

Speaker(s): Dr. Marcia McLure Hardy is a business consultant with the Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC). She has conducted business as a business owner for over 20 years, is as an entrepreneur, and served as the co-founder and CEO of a consulting company providing leadership, training and consulting expertise and software solutions. Dr. Hardy has provided strategic direction, practical implementation and business management solutions for a variety of clients including small and large employers. Currently, Dr. Hardy is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration at Northwestern State University of Louisiana where she teaches coursework in Organization and Management, Leadership, Motivation and Power, Strategic Management & Policies, and Advanced Management. Mr. Roman Starns is a Senior Business Consultant with the Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC). He is an entrepreneur and a small business owner.
