“Leadership Strategies” is a solutions- based workshop session in the VIRTUAL LSBDC Business Success Series. This Workshop offers practical advice for dealing with the nature of change in business including types and forces of change, change models, and a set of techniques for implementing planned change. Leadership strategies for managing employee fear and resistance are offered. The workshop also introduces types of innovation and useful ways a company can foster and promote innovation today while building success and prosperity for the ‘here and now’ and the immediate future. Reasons employees resist change are discussed and the six seeds necessary to successfully implement innovation in our current business environment are presented.
A question and answer period will be available for the attendees to ask specific questions related to their businesses and the session topic.

Speaker(s): Dr. Marcia McLure Hardy is a business consultant with the Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC). She has conducted business as a business owner for over 20 years, is as an entrepreneur, and served as the co-founder and CEO of a consulting company providing leadership, training and consulting expertise and software solutions. Dr. Hardy has provided strategic direction, practical implementation and business management solutions for a variety of clients including small and large employers. Currently, Dr. Hardy is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration at Northwestern State University of Louisiana where she teaches coursework in Organization and Management, Leadership, Motivation and Power, Strategic Management & Policies, and Advanced Management. Mr. Roman Starns is a Senior Business Consultant with the Louisiana Small Business Development Center (LSBDC). He is an entrepreneur and a small business owner.
